In my 50+ track days experience, I've never had a wheel weight come off. I paint stick their location so I know what was there.

When running slicks on my Z06 race car I have the wheels balanced on a dynamic balancer with no tires mounted. I then put aluminum tape from Lowes,(used on HVAC ducting installs) over those wheel weights. I label those weights with a sharpie. ( DO NOT REMOVE). I then mount the tires with minimal lube and mark the wheels and tires to detect any rotation.
If vibration becomes bad at track on a Summer day I check for rubber chunks in wheel barrel. If I see severe rotation on the rim, and if rubber build up doesn't appear to be the culprit I may move the tire specific wheel weights. I bring a Harbor freight bubble balancer to the track when running slicks. I have yet to have an issue with my SS1LE but I'm still learning the car on the Goodyears and my pace is off appreciably from my C5Z06. |

This stuff has the consistency of roof tar. Might work, but is a gooey mess and would probably slip if it got real hot. Better suited for low pressure/off road applications.
