Leaking water pump

Hey guys, I have a '22 SS 1LE M6 with only 4500 miles and the water pump started leaking. GM is covering it and replacing it tomorrow. It is leaking from the weep hole. Anyone else experience this before with such low milage? This engine was hand build so should I be worried other things will break? Now I'm hesitant on adding more modification. I have a CAI, deleted cats with a Trifecta tune now, but I'm planning on long tube headers, LT2 and 91mm TB. Any advice? TIA

Adam

Very unusual, honestly. My advice? Let them replace the water pump and move on with your life. This is not a common issue.

At 4500 miles it's a little concerning that the water pump goes, but I agree with you. Thanks.

Its just a water pump...the seals were bad. The guy who built the engine just slapped the part on, he didnt make the part.

Enjoy that beautiful baby.

It looks like this has been a dormant subject. But my 2017 2SS (Damn near a garage queen) with 25000 miles has a weeping waterpump. Seems pretty crazy to me. Usual in a temperature controlled garage. Any more low mileage failures?

If it is leaking from the weep hole the problem is internal to the pump. Bad seals or poorly installed. Outside environment not really a factor here.
