Are you jacking up both the front and back evenly or just the rear?

Are you jacking up under the rear differential?

AC Delco Diff Fluid

Use the AC Delco stuff. It has the proper blend of added friction modifier. I raise the front and rear of the car equally, but if you want you can raise the front a tiny bit higher as the plug is at the back.

Technically, the dealer is correct. I would still change the original fluid at 1,500 even if you don't plan to track it. It'll help get all the assembly lube and minor metal shavings out. Get the fresh fluid in there and then leave it until 45k.

I ended up changing the fluid today at 3089 miles. The fluid came out black, and the drain plug had a lot of material on it:

That is pretty normal for the first and second change. Nothing to worry about.

im somewhat confused when I go to amazon it says use ACDelco GM Original Equipment 10-4016 GL-5 75W-90 Synthetic Axle Lubricant - but I usually see to use ACDelco GM Original Equipment 10-4034 Dexron LS 75W-90 Gear Oil - 32 oz

which one is it? I have a 2022 2ss le and i want to change the fluid

Amazon usually has no clue which parts “fit” for our vehicles.

if i used the other one mentioned (ACDelco GM Original Equipment 10-4016 GL-5 75W-90 Synthetic Axle Lubricant - 1 qt)

would it mess up my differential?

That all depends. It won’t mess anything up, as long as you add the friction modifier to the differential as well. ACDelco Friction Modifier

I just wouldn’t run it long term. The correct fluid has the proper ratio of friction modifier already mixed in.
