"1500 mile" oil change

I bought my car in Chicago, drove it the 700+ miles to PA, then to the PPF/detailer, and back home. Parked it, and changed the oil first chance I around 950 miles.

So is it more important to change it again at 1500 miles, or, with 1000 miles on this oil I just put in there?

Don't care either way, just want to do what is "more correct".

Nah, I'd wait till at least the 2000 mile point...

Your break-in period is already complete by now, and you changed the oil already. Run what you have for the normal 7500 or whatever period, no point changing it again.

The manual says 1500 miles for the break in period so it is not complete yet if he wants to follow what is listed there. The track prep guide also suggests an oil change at both 500 miles and 1500 miles. That might be overkill but it would be "more correct" for OP to do a second oil change around 1500 miles.

Also if you plan to track the car, the manual and/or track prep guide recommends a diff fluid change before your first track day and another immediately after.

No track days here (*at least yet). I just did another change around 2000 so that the 2nd batch of oil had about 1K miles on it.

You're gucci.

If you get samples off to Blackstone, you can watch the engine age. Or be a total nerd like me and pay the extra $10 for the TBN.

Did my first oil change at 1500 miles. Can I wait till 5000 miles for the second? I drive it hard at times.

My oil changes on this car, whenever it arrives, will likely be yearly. I don't expect to hit 5,000 miles a year.

i had three free oil changes with chevy when i first bought my car, i did all three at 500 intervals to get it over with.. waste of money true... probably..... do i care? no not really because i also was racing my car before my 1000 mile mark. so to answer your question OP you'll be fine and don't need to change it again at 1500 miles.

I've only owned it for a month and already have almost 3,000 miles on it...and two of those weeks were sitting waiting for PPF appointment and then getting PPF/ceramic coating done haha.
