New Camaro owner as of today! Hopefully.

Hey everyone, just wanted to introduce myself. I live in the Pacific Northwest and love cars. I have owned Mustangs, Challengers and others but never a Camaro. I am about to become a first time new Camaro owner. At least if I make it though the 4hr train trip north to pick it up. I am currently sitting in the Amtrak station waiting to go.

Welcome dude. You wouldn't be at the Amtrak station in Lacey, would you? Where you getting the car from?

An Amtrak station the day the rail almost shut down to go pick up your first Camaro.

Oh, here are some delivery checklists if you fancy thoroughly checking out your new car, given how long you traveled to pick it up. Feel free to use them or ignore them as you wish .

Some of these require driving the car for a while, you will want to find a dealership local to you for remediation under warranty.

Good luck and enjoy your first Camaro

Quick checks
Front fascia – color match to body. Fit to hood (gap and level, flush hood to fascia)
Paint defects – Blemishes, debris, dirt, scratches, and thin coverage
Paint thin or missing in door jambs, under hood, wheels, etc.
Defroster vents leaking cold air onto windshield in A/C mode, causing condensation build up

Differential noise when cold and turning
Coolant leaks at full operating temp
Fluid leaks from engine, trans, cooler lines
A/C recirculation door sticks, pops
NPP exhaust butterflies – for rattles when running
Squeaks or rattles over bumpy surface
Door rattles from speaker bass
Wind noise leaks

Complete checkup
Request no "dealer emblem" (the painted advertisement for where you bought it)
Request no detailing
If you don't need a front license plate, tell them not to drill / install mount for it.

Exterior
Paint
All surfaces / panels have consistent color, coverage
Scratches / swirls - Inspect using bright light, note locations
Note any excessive orange peeling (there will be some on these cars, it's expected, but shouldn't be excessively bad)
Look for any other imperfections

Body
Dents
Missing / incorrectly installed trim (GFX, bow ties, emblems, decals, etc)
Gas cap closes flush with body
Gaps between panels are uniform and appropriate (problems were reported with hood alignment and side doors rubbing on panel in front when opened).
Headlights / taillights unscratched, unbroken
All LPO items installed / factory versions made available to take home
Correct wheels
Correct brakes

Trunk
Check interior paint coverage (around seal, hinges, interior of trunk)
Check trunk open / close / lock /unlock
Under hood
Condition / presence of paint where paint should be
Check hood for open / close
Correct Tire Pressure
Front / back turn signals work
Brake lights work
Backup lights work

Interior
Check all infotainment system functions (radio, XM, OnStar, play from USB, wireless charger)
Check all DIC displays (cycle through)
Check HUD, if installed
Check disco lighting, if installed
Check heated seats / ventilated seats / heated steering wheel if installed
Run adjustable seats "stop to stop" in all directions
Check center console (open /close, interior)
Check AC/heater function
Rear window defrost
Fit & finish of all interior trim
Window operations, both windows
Interior lighting
Door locks / remote unlock
Check fuses (two fuse boxes, one underhood, one below trunk floor liner) to ensure all fuses fully seated

Test Drive
Remote start (if equipped) works
Gas gauge works
Dual Mode Exhaust (if equipped) works
Cycle through drive modes
Alignment (car doesn't pull to one side or another even when you let go of steering wheel)

Paperwork
Sirius XM subscription confirmed for 12 months (not three)
OnStar activated (don't give them any credit card info(!) )
Claim your original window sticker
Double-check warranty start date
Tax, tag, title, loan...

Bonus: Get the "event history" and/or factory build sheet for your car
