Same here on my last two tint jobs. 35 sides/20 rear. 35 is legal here.

I think 35% is perfect. It's mature and classy without rendering you blind at night, while still keeping most of the interior obscured and blocking some light. With that being said, I'd advocate for using ceramic window tint only, as it can drastically reduce the UV exposure you have in your car.

On top of that, every single one of my cars has 70-80% ceramic tint on the front windshield. It's nearly imperceptible but helps to add to the overall look and reduction of excess light into the cabin.

5% with 50% on windshield. Windshield is a necessity IMO, dramatically reduces the glare during the day and especially at night.

Legal tint here in NC is 35%. Any darker and the vehicle won't pass inspection, although I see lots of vehicles with darker tint on the road. Because of an eye condition that makes me very light sensitive I have a waiver from DMV that allows me to go as dark as 20%. I currently have 24% tint on my Durango. However, with the Camaro I probably wouldn't go darker than 35% since the windows are fairly small and the interior of my 1LE is already pretty dark being mostly all black.

Being you're in Louisiana like me, I'll make a suggestion I've had good luck with (knock on wood) for inspections.

I simply don't do it on the Z (my daily) or my wife's SUV and hadn't done it in5-6 years. I don't run a sticker at all, doesn't make it obvious since it would be expired.

Also BTW, technically we can't have windshield tint here but it is legal in texas if you don't have any good tint guys.

Does tint of any type have an effect on the HUD?

Hasn't affected my HUD. I can still see it perfectly fine.

Same here. I actually posted a question about this very topic before my windows were tinted. I was worried the ceramic tint I was getting would affect the HUD. I was assured it would be fine, and indeed that is the case. No issues whatsoever with the HUD, and it works as normal.

At least apply some 303 UV protectant or a similar product to your dash every 6 months or so, otherwise it'll fade and look worn from the sun.

I went with 5% with this being a vert, and I also don't have issues seeing at night even if the windows are up for the most part. There are times I have rolled the windows down just to be sure. I think the eyebrow is also 5% but can't remember.
