GMPP Cold Air Intake Install Costg

My local shop quoted $500 for the part, install and flash of this part. Whatcha think? They also stated it wouldnt void the warranty if they installed and flashed the car:

$500 for everything? That sounds very reasonable. Plus warranty intact. I'm doing this when the GM turbo intake comes out although I'm gonna buy mine from GM parts guy and take it in to the dealer. He has v6 one for like $374. You might ask dealer how much for flash and install only. You might save a few bucks.

I just ordered from GMPartsGuy as well. The local shop wanted 4-6 weeks to get the intake. They are doing the install and flash for $92.00.

Don't forget shipping cost from thatgmpartsguy shipping for me $40 Dealer quoted me $120 for install and flash but if I buy the part from them no cost.. so its cheaper for me to do it at my dealer.

I was really impressed with my dealer when I installed the GMPP Axleback exhaust. I thought it would be a really good opportunity for them to rip me off, but they only charged me $150 for the installation and installing the new tune (supplied by GM)

Nice to read good stories about dealers once in a while - usually we only hear about the bad side of the dealer network

Shipping to SC was $27.59 from that guy. Still better than what the dealership quoted me on the part alone. In the end it should still be less than $500. I will keep you posted on the progress!

So help me out here. The GMPP axleback has a factory supplied tune? What if you have the intake *and* the axleback? Do they have a special tune for that, or which one do you use?

No, he was just saying he had a good experience with his dealer and the catback. Only the intake has the tune.

The exhaust has a tune for the noise cancellation if you have the Bose stereo. Completely different from an intake tune.

-Geoff

edit: no tune for V6 exhaust, only T4 and V8. Sorry.

Which one is better?

This is for 2016 or 2017 V6 Camaro!

I am in Illinois

What you all think?

aFe Momentum GT Pro 5R VS GEN 6 LGX 3.6L GMPP INTAKE With Tune.

Which one is better?
What is Tune?
Do i need Tune?
Which one should i go with?

i am asking this because i just aFe Momentum GT Pro 5R but did not install yet.
so which one should i go with AFE or GM Performance intake.

Thank You

As many here have said in several post, its a choice you have to make. The AFE is a nice product as is the GMPP. Honestly the AFE looks better to me. The real question for me was related to keeping my warranty for now. Using the GMPP CAI you can rest easy on knowing the warranty is still valid. Going to the AFE will leave that up to your shop/tech as to if the warranty is valid after the modification.

In the end these are mostly noise with a little boost in power if you believe the dyno results.

Hope this helps!

The GM Tune is simply to not through codes right? We aren't talking about a performance upgrade are we? If so, how much in HP gains? Thanks.
