Do you still have audio (radio)? Can you hear the seat belt chime? If you have radio, can you adjust volume from the steering wheel controls?

Same thing happened to me. I took out the fuse for the radio and let it sit for several minutes and put it back. It's been working fine ever since.

Its in the fusebox in the trunk. Position is "F16 DISPLAY" pull the fuse wait 10 seconds and plug it back in and you should be good. Avoids a trip to the dealer but there is an update thru GM that eliminates this software issue. I just cant be bothered going in for this ill wait until In need something else.

Thank you, will do it tomorrow. I need to go into the dealer for an oil change regardless, but I'll do this in the AM.

Thanks

This happened to me the other evening, literally the night before I was going to take my car in for round two of a rear deck/speaker problem.

The display was lit, but solid black, the radio was working, and pressing randomly on the screen produced the sound of menu interactions.

The best info at the time suggested disconnecting the battery for ~10 minutes, and doing this cleared up the issue. I have decided to drive the car for another week before taking it back to the dealer, just to see if this becomes a habit.

It's underneath the trunk mat. It's going to be to the right and there's a plastic cover you have to remove to access the fuses.

There are two fuses to the far bottom left by themselves. The radio fuse should be 15 and should be blue. (2nd one from the bottom)

On the inside of the fusebox lid is a diagram that shows fuse positions. Look for "F16 Display" on the diagram and match it to the corresponding position in the actual box. Im not sure the amperage of the fuse i just remember the physical location designation and description labeled on the diagram.

This literally just happened to me.

  • Volume only works from steering wheel
  • No xm channels being displayed but it plays them just fine. It displays channel 0 and radio ID?
  • Fm channels, plays 95.5 but when you hit 97.9 it goes to the different channel but display still says 95.5
  • Cant change interior light color.
  • Blue tooth is just all messed up. connects but never plays any sounds.
Going to reset the 16 fuse now, and see what happens.
