It sounds like you are just the resource I will need in the future when my warranty runs out. I’m hoping it will be a winter project for next year. Quote:
I actually looked into getting a ZL1 when I bought my SS. I did a little research into the differences, but unfortunately my budget just didn’t allow for the difference in price. (I’ll GBP over here. LOL) I am more than capable of doing all the work & handling fine tuning myself. It’s going to be a bit of a learning curve, but I’m eager for the endeavor. I always have & it’s something I enjoy doing so I do have that going for me. My plan is to do things in steps, progressing as money permits. I have other hobbies that I spend a few thousand a year on so budgeting that in is going to be a bit of a balancing act. That said I have been researching a turn key LT4, & you are right, it makes good sense to go that route as well. This will not be a drag car. Been there, done that. I live over 2hrs from the closest track & I work 6days a week spring, summer & fall. There is a local test run a couple days a year at our local airport, but even getting off those Saturdays is not easy. This will be, for the most part, a personal challenge just to say I have XXX power. Stupid I know, but it’s what I want at this point in life. I’ve always had performance cars, with the most powerful being 600RWHP, I just want something more than that by a good margin, just in a streetable street car. No cages or anything like that. Just simple, refined power. |
