Hey my own club! So cool the build timing is around my birthday. So nice Chevy picked that week. They must know this will be my 8th Camaro, only one of which was used.
However I did not own them all at once. Now I am figuring out to get those seat heaters to work. They are in those Recaros!

This will be first time tracking at all so looking forward to it. I have had this car on order since September but the strike really delayed this order.

As for me I tried tracking but it was too expensive for me. About $500 per day and maybe more: besides track fees and if you stay out too long in a fast car you might add brakes and tires to the list. And don't forget to flush the brake fluid afterwards. But man is it fun!! But as for me I have soured on tracking as my (80 year old) friend totaled my twin turbo 5th gen 1LE by putting it shiny side down. Luckily his son the doctor who rented the Millville Lightning track sewed up his arm in the pits. Otherwise he was fine. My heart was in my throat until I saw him standing up walking the track. He climbed out the back window. Never let a Mustang driver in a fast Camaro! Lesson learned. I might try Autocross with my LT1.

I rented a 2020 Malibu on my latest biz trip. 2 interesting things:
1. the guages look almost exactly like the LT1 guages. I like the analog old school setup. And wierdly even the lower trim Malibu I rented tells me I had stuff sitting on the back seat. I did not even know that was a thing.?? I also am sad GM and Ford will stop building sedans. Everyone now wants a tall station wagon. I guess people forgot no one wants a station wagon any more. For those who need it a station wagon is useful, though. Also a question, does the LT1 come with auto headlamps? If not that is something I will miss....

The next step for us is 3800 Vehicle built! I wish they recorded the event. Then they could sell up a copy so we can bore our families with it. I'd give $100 for that opportunity.

The week after next will come fast. But I know you have been waiting a long time. I will be visiting my daughter in Denver when my car and yours are hopefully being built.
As for me I am ordering because no LT1 in the country had what I was hoping for. Usually I find the cheapest new car within a reasonable travel range and then push hard leveraging dealers against each other for the best possible price. Dealers generally try to manipulate us so I do not mind turning the tables. But sometimes I feel a little bad. I had a dealer call me after I bought a car just to ask me did I really get the price I told him I was offered? I could only answer yes. I was not playing. But on the good for the family side I saved my son in law $3.5K on his new Mazda SUV than he was originally was going to pay for it. But dealers have to make money to survive. Usually a trade really clouds the price issue. So I avoid trading if I can more than cover the tax difference. It's a tough business. But ordering with Becky was fun she and made things easy and gave me a fair price. And I will have a very unique LT1 that in a 2050 Mecum Auction will fetch as much as an SS. LOL If America still exists by then. And If Gen5DIY finishes thier Recaro project I can add seat heating and ventilation. What made you order your SS? There are so many nice ones around.
