Rattly MyLink Screen

The top of the MyLink screen in my 2016 SS is ever-so-slightly loose, making for a small rattling buzz when I'm on rough pavement. Is there any way to tighten it up?

yes. there is a video on youtube, but from memory you just pry off the bezel on the bottom that goes around the volumn know. you will see two bolt, one on each side of the unit (lower left and right). I loosened mine up, put some felt tape behind the top of the display and tightened them up (just don't over tighten).

I wedged some dark gray foam weather stripping in the gaps behind mine. Did not have to take anything apart and it is not visible from any normal viewing angle in the car.

Hm. Well, if you stumble across that video, I'd love to see it. I did a couple of Google searches and came up empty.

Okay, I found a video: https://youtu.be/t7Rardz_m8Q

Looks like the only bolts on the unit are at the bottom. The top is just clips--nothing there to tighten. If the rattling starts driving me crazy, I may try the felt tape solution.

And what a magnificent video it is

The hinges have probably worn out a little, I don't think you have any other way to fix this than adding that tape or felt liner.

I think I'm talking myself out of trying to pry this piece off, mainly because I'm so OCD about hurting my car. In the videos I watched they inserted a flat tool into this groove to pry off the face plate. It looked easy enough, but I'm afraid that inserting a tool and twisting would leave nicks in the plastic. Yes, I'm weird like that.

Wrap a thin microfiber towel or glass cleaner towel around a thin, flat plastic trim tool (e.g. the bottom side of the middle one in this pack I randomly googled) and gently pry it off.

Very little force is needed and you won't hurt the edges on either side of the groove, I know that's what you're afraid of. You'll feel much better after fixing the rattle.
