Review: Trans-Mate Tame Tiger Brake Dust Remover "no touch"

Review: Trans-Mate Tame Tiger Brake Dust Remover

I received a sample bottle of Tame Tiger at the Mobile Tech Expo in Orlando recently.

I was looking for a "no touch" wheel cleaner. I wanted to speed up my process but also not scratch any custom wheels. The instructions say spray, let dwell, rinse with pressure washer.

Smell: Like the gates of hell; wet dog food farts

Color: Ectoplasm Hi-C green

Consistency: Thin gel

Test subject: 2016 GMC Sierra; wheels had never been cleaned; brake dust and dirt in the tiny crevices of the wheel surface.

I sprayed Tame Tiger on liberally

I forgot to take a picture of the dwelling, but here is a picture of a different wheel with the same treatment.

Notice the red where the Tame Tiger is breaking down the brake dust.
10 minutes dwell time, then I rinsed with a pressure washer. I did not use a brush. Wow! Check the shine!

Most of the contamination just rinsed away!

This product works as advertised! Just spray and rinse. For tough grime, you can use a brush and I think results will be superior. I recommend that you wear gloves, as the smell will stay on your skin for a few hours. Trans-Mate Tame Tiger can be purchased at KOI stores.

I remember when it came in the big tall cans, you had to use one of those can openers that cut a triangle hole in the can, one on each side to vent...lol.

Instead of individual reviews, I would love to see a side-by-side with a couple other products .....can you comment on how this works better than sonax, Meguires, ironX , all the other good brake cleaners? For me to switch it's either got to be easier, more effective, or cheaper than what I'm using now:Sonax.

I got a couple good cleaners on my shelf already, I would need a huge incentive to switch. I refuse to add more "like" products to my detailing shelf, it already is overcrowded due to this addiction....LOL

For me and my mobile detailing business, the important things are:

price

amount of time to use the product successfully

I am looking for a product that is "no touch." Spray on, pressure rinse off. That saves me about 20 minutes of not scrubbing a customer's wheels with a brush. I have used Sonax Wheel Cleaner Full Effect many times. It is not "no touch." And it is VERY expensive at $1/per oz!!!!

I try to buy products that don't include a huge marketing cost included in the price. I probably have some Sonax left around so I will try to do a side-by-side next chance I get and reply to this thread. I buy all my products wholesale and in bulk.

P & S would be a better comparison.

Yup, works fine for me. I use it twice a year, so I'm not really concerned about the cost of it. Wheel cleaners Are one of those products like tire shine and glass cleaner that I really don't care to investigate all the minutiae, I've never found a major mfr product that didn't work. I'm sure I would investigate it more closely, like Kirk if I was a professional detailer.
I also recently tried Duragloss cleaner, a lot cheaper than the sonax. So after this is gone, Ill move to the Duragloss.

Kirk - you should report how this stuff works without a power washer, a lot of us don't have one. That would be more appropriate for the majority of readers here.

Will do. I bet a firehose nozzle would be enough pressure. Maybe not a $10 Carrand fire hose nozzle but a good firehose nozzle like Adam's.
