Need help with front fascia damage

While washing the car this weekend I noticed this damage to the lower lip. Seems like a parked too close to the curb. I have ordered a paint touch up kit but I think it may need some sort of filler/bondo to make it look even. Any suggestions on how can I fix this?

Thanks!!

Nasty......filler, sand, primer, and topcoat...and it will still probably show,

I'd take the whole front end off myself and take it to a body shop if you want it to be invisible. Figure $500

I don't mind if it shows a bit. Most of the damage is on the under edge of the lip and does not look prominent while looking from the front.
I will try to use a filler..
Any suggestions on the products I can use?

For something this severe you really need to have some experience. It's going to take 400 grit paper 800 grit paper 2000 grit paper, Bondo that is 2 part with hardener, block sanding, and then spray paint and clearcoat and polish. Like I said it's probably going to show. All avail at auto parts store.

Damn, those are pretty deep. Not the type of project to be learning on, might just make it worse. If you're going for "Cheap and looks semi-decent at 20 feet", carefully shave off any excess plastic and just touch it up. If you want it done right, go to a body shop.

How much is a new fascia? Seems like it is probably not much more, if any, than the repair.

I know the fascia for my 2004 Grand Prix GTP is only $250 painted...

The main reason why I would never pay almost $2K to wrap my front end in clear vinyl...

When I get sick of the stone chips and scratches, I'm buying a new fascia and saving myself over a grand...

That's nuts. As you still have to drive around with chips and bug guts that may not come off in the meantime. The clear bra makes maintenance super easy too. Once the car is apart, it is never quite the same as far as clips and screws go and such. Plus then you have to HOPE the paint matches, and most aftermarket paint jobs aren't going to have the proper amount of flex additive to hold up like the factory paint. Also, it's not $2000 to clear bra the front, I already have gotten estimates in the $500-$600 range, and had other cars done for that or less....a new GM bumper for a SS is close to $400 now, plus figure about $500 for good paint. And labor if you don't do it yourself is an easy $250. Then you hope nothing gets messed up.....sorry, clear bra over that anyday for me.

Yeah, but then you have the potential in getting on the merry go round of having local autobody shops telling you they can't effectively match the original paint without having to "blend" into the fenders and hood.

Thanks, but no thanks. I'd rather save up for a clear bra and protect the original paint

Maybe it's because we do that stuff everyday, but this sounds like a cop out. If someone who knows what they're doing takes apart and reassembles, it's just as good as factory, if not better. Mostly because we're not doing 1000 a day and we're more meticulous than factory workers, because we want to make sure it's 100% right, every single time. Customer satisfaction still matters to some of us.

Flex additive? Seriously? Every semi-modern shop does this every single time, without issue. There is no flex additive these days, that was 20-30 years ago.

I would have to agree with Glen, if you don't have auto body experience you very well could end up making it worse, especially trying to sand a small area. If you do it make sure and tape the surrounding areas good while sanding.

A hit like that, the clear bra wouldn't do a damn bit of good. It would've punctured right through it because that's down to the substrate. That's a huge hit.
