Short Review & Help with scratches

With the help of ChrisFix from youtube and Glen-e from our very own forum, I've done my first car detail. Far from perfect, but it's still better than the dealer detail.

I used the AutoGeek Forum Favorite detail kit. I highly recommend it, I did skip the Klasse AIO, but results still very good. The Pinnacle Wax from the kit is amazing, it can actually be applied on the trim without whitening, it actually makes it look new again. Very easy high quality wax to work with, I used it on the wheels and windows too.

used wax on the wheels too, looks great, but I hope it repels the brake dust

On another note, does anyone have any advice on fixing my window scratch and chip on my wheel? I can't believe someone would key my window...

For the rim, find out the colour code for the paint, touch it up. For the window, how deep is that scratch? Is it deep? If you run your finger nail over it does it catch? You can buy glass polishing pads and use cerium oxide to lessen it or remove it. Search videos on removing scratches from automotive glass. Possibly find a professional that can remove it for you.

For touching up, do I have to wet sand it down? to get it smooth.

Yeah if I use my nails, I can feel the scratches..

I'm going to try the toothpaste trick I found online, but I don't think it's going to work, the scratch seems too big/deep

Argh I'm so sick of where I live, I live in the San Fernando Valley and in the span of 3 weeks my Camaro has been key'd twice and dinged twice. I park super far from everyone in lots/garages, people still find a way to vandalize or hurt my car.

Are there that many Camaro haters and inconsiderate people in SoCal? Just in the past week, I had 3 Mustang drivers give me the hater look while revving their engines at me

I should just move to Canada.

And thanks Slem, I will look for the paint code.

that blemish on your window glass may not be vandalism but something snagging your glass as the window goes down into the door.car looks great otherwise!

Those scratches on the glass could be from pointless dent removal, I have similar scratches after dealer fixed dent in door.

I'm so confused... you mean when they were removing dents, they caused this?

they insert the tools between glass and door, its easier with window lowered, if they're not careful scratched glass.
