I cannot get the passenger door to unlock without the fob or unlock button inside the car. Tried every setting. Anybody else?

I think you have to push the button on the door handle twice to unlock the passenger door...

I can stand next to the car on the drivers side with the fob in my pocket and my passenger cannot open their door. If I walk to the passenger side with the fob in my pocket I can open the passenger door. I just want them to be able to get in the car without me physically pushing a button

Push it once it unlocks my door. Push it twice it locks my door. No effect to passenger door

Per the manual,

"Keyless Unlocking/Locking from the Driver Door When the doors are locked and the RKE transmitter is within 1m (3 ft) of the driver door handle, pressing the lock/unlock button on the driver door handle will unlock the driver door. If the lock/unlock button is pressed again within five seconds, the passenger door will unlock. Pull the door handle to unlatch the door."

That is not what happens. When I press it a second time it just locks the driver door

Go into "Vehicle Personalization" on your infotainment screen.

One of the settings in the vehicle settings is how the door lock/unlock options are set.
You didn't list the year, but Vehicle Personalization begins on page 144 of the 217 owners manual
