It's a redundant venture on that front. They have no way of knowing if the vehicle has been reflashed by the dealer and how many times. Too many variables for tunes to be a big factor.

No only a few spots that sell vp100.

I was just being sarcastic because his posts are always silly to me.

Aftermarket tunes typically do not match the CVN and Cal I.d. numbers. I guess that's how they get triggered. From what I read though, CA has stated that as long as the ecu is brought back to oem standard it would pass.

From these post, I’m assuming 93 octane is hard to find
In California?!…that’s insane! WHY?….and, who is checking
Tunes?? ….every time u have an emissions check, I assume
Yearly? The Smog police keep that info in a data base
Correlating to owner and vehicle vin.? Is that true?!

I hope you’re right lol cause they’ve been collecting stock tune IDs and information for years from my little research.

Stock tune ID's perhaps, but reflashes typically generate a random reassignment CVN even on a dealer level. My car had a reflash done on it prior to purchasing it god knows how many times unbeknownst to my knowledge and it passed smog no problem.

I didn't do it. The dealer did it and they were having a bitch of a time getting it to pass because it had an aftermarket intake and some other crap that they wouldn't allow to pass. I just got the vehicle in April and the car had been on the market for less than 10 days so the smog had to have been done between then or late March. So INCREDIBLY recently.
