Hey guys. New to the forum. So I started my order on the 15th. Salesman told me that if I sent my $1,000 deposit he would get it in the system that day. I did. Fast forward (after reading a lot of helpful information on here) a week later. I ask him for my order number. His response was that he didn't have one and that it would be sitting either way until GM gives them the allocation. My question to the forum. Would you stay with this dealer or just pull out and find another? Not sure what to do? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

Pull that order. He should have put it in the system and giving you a order number.

Nah, this isn't normal. I got my order number as soon as the salesman entered my order into the workbench and took my deposit. Shady.

Hope you got it in writing that your deposit is refundable. You need to go back to the dealer and find out what happened to your money and order. Try to go up the food chain in the dealer management until you figure out who actually puts in the orders. I watched them put in my order in the system, and they gave me the order number with no deposit. They don't need an allocation to get you in 1100 status.

Thanks guys. Yea I thought after reading all the info on here that I wasn't being given the same treatment. I was given in writing that the deposit was refundable, I wouldn't proceed with the order until I had it and the price both in writing.

I’d back out find a better dealer, I did mine over the phone with no deposit and got my workbench and order number within minutes after we opted it out

I second this! My dealer required 500 down and I placed my order , had the gm workbench print out given to me with all the info and order number. If they had no allocation they should not have taken his deposit. SHADY

I just checked again today after hearing someone say that they update on Tuesday mornings. It's still saying that my order has been submitted by my dealer but has not been accepted by GM. Is this common across the board, or do I need to find another dealer, or...? My order has been in for 4 weeks now.

With you wanting ZL1 and in Sharkskin metallic you can expect a lengthy wait at any dealer. Both heavily constrained options.
