Supposedly so they can get all the cars info and no issues with mismatched vins.

Damn, I bought my car from them and had a good experience. I've never used them for service.

They’ve been called that for like forever. My younger brother was once a porter at a Mercedes dealer in Buffalo. His job was to move cars around and to wash and vacuum them before they were delivered back to the customers. He met a lot of celebrities and professional athletes who brought their cars in for routine service. He was the guy that brought their car back to them after the service was completed. Got a lot of tips. Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas, and Grant Fuhr were among his favorites.

Yep, back when I worked for Magellan a group of us had to go to Atlanta to update all the nav units at the Hertz airport lot. They had 7000 cars there (700 with Neverlost). They referred to the guys who moved the cars around as porters.

They call the guys who drive the cars around the service area porters around here. I can't believe they had the galls to say "You can't prove we did it." We in the twilight zone today? Where has all the integrity and responsibility gone nowadays.

The only Chevy dealer in So Cal I trust is Rydell in Northridge, fortunately not far from me... due to it being 5 miles away I made the mistake of going to Keyes Chevrolet once. I just wanted them to remove my nearly new GY3Rs to save for track and swap on new PS4S, change oil at 500 miles for break in, and do a DSSV track alignment, rotating camber plates.

Here is what they did to my beloved new ZLE in one visit, this is 100% true and no exaggeration:
  1. Put 3 dents in the car, including one on doorsill my PDR guy can't fix due to it being double-walled (too thick)
  2. Damaged bead on new GY3R, rendering tire useless
  3. Could not do alignment, didn't know how so I told them to stop trying
  4. Put wrong oil filter on car (PF48 vs PF64) resulting in leaking oil

After all of this, the only thing they accepted responsibility for was the oil filter error. They said I damaged the tire myself somehow, said it came off with an existing torn bead despite never being removed--they and GM cust service said I must have damaged the bead at home.

NEVER take your car to Keyes Chevy or any Keyes, we took our Lexus GS350 there once and they suck too.

Well, porter it is!, much better then lube tech,
That term is often used when u have a colonoscopy!
I digress, speaking from experience (as I was a
Service manger) I wouldn’t take any of my cars
Boats, or motorcycles into a dealership! Period!
Even for a free oil change!!!….unless u drive a
Leased vehicle.

Every time I can think of taking a car in for "service", it's been damaged. I don't take it in unless it's warranty, and I've literally gone in and said I'm an a$$h0l3 and WILL be checking for damage when I get it back (all stated politely, of course), and my last visit wasn't too bad. I still replaced a door sill molding that they damaged (I would've scratched it eventually), but I was treated great otherwise. That was the least of my damage.
