On paper, they run the EXACT same. Why would you think there would be any difference? The aero isn't making a difference in 1/4 mile run....the only thing to go off of really is preference and looks. The ZLE looks much meaner, but its not a ride for everyone. Outside of that, there shouldnt be any difference. I've owned both (although my ZLE is a manual)....I don't track my ZLE, I use it as a daily, and it certainly can be used for straight line runs if you wanted (in fact, IF I were to race, thats likely all it would be).

Because that's they talk about online! Is the aero and the downforce, hopefully I can run one and quiet the masses

What stage aero did the Z06 have?

Funny thread. ZLE owners say they are faster on a road course because of the aero but they don’t think the aero will slow them down on a straight line run. That’s hilarious LOL. Aero creates drag. Own it. You are faster on a road course. You are slower going straight at high speed.

Just need to have a shop reduce the angle of the rear wing and downforce to something like 50#, and we'd be good.

I don't think anyone implied this. The point I believe people are trying to make is that on an unprepped surface (street) and with amateur drivers (most drivers you'll come across, most drivers here) the difference would be in the launch, reaction & driver ability.

If we're talking on the dragstrip, it's really not even worth discussing. If you bought a ZLE for drag racing, you brought the wrong ZL1. Outside of the aero, the DSSV suspension is not optimized for weight transfer and will negatively impact grip / traction from a dig.

There are really only two factors worth talking, as someone already stated the stiffer suspension in the 1LE is certainly not helping any for drag racing because of poor weight transfer. The other is the 1LE aero which probably has little affect until around 100mph at which point it has to have SOME effect, even if it's minor. I think the difference between a standard ZL1 and 1LE is probably minimal from a roll up until 100mph plus at which point the standard model should start to gain an advantage as speed continues to increase.

I didn't buy mine for drag racing only and haven't experienced any unusual problems with traction at the strip or a dig. I ran 1.60 on my last and 9th pass and I can see running 1.40s at 8000 ft. [1st pass was 1.90 something] Since I put these Toyos on it, traction is not a problem. It makes a good ET Series drag car.

Should be that way. I ran a 11.2@124 at Gateway on a 50deg night FWIW. My best 60' was 1.69. Typical is 1.75.

Not sure. It has a small spoiler on the back as I remember.

100%, you can't have it both ways. Also add wider tires creates more drag also, even more so when they poke outside the fenders.
