It looks and fits great, but I was disappointed to find out the crossbar in the back touches/rubs the top of the 105mm HiRam which is the whole reason I bought it in the first place. I cut out a big square notch(6"x4" ish) in the cross support of the hood to help it clear but judging by the powder coat being rubbed off on my intake it still touches. I'm guessing its when the motor moves around, as it seems to just barely clear when closing the hood in the garage now.
they told me 14 weeks, so i guess that's fair. is that the extra clearance hood or the regular one?

Didn’t get the max clearance version ?

This is the regular clearance one...

I was told it would clear the Hi-Ram by a few different people, maybe they meant the 95mm lid? I was hoping to keep it as low profile as possible so i stuck with the standard vfn hood, also I recall the max clearance was more $$$ as well.

If you dont paint/powder coat your lid I doubt you would even notice that it touches in the back so its not a huge deal either way.

i think the extra clearance comes from a difference in bracing on the underside of the hood, i don't think the cowl portion is any taller.

with regard to the btr manifold, i am giving serious consideration to having a machine shop make me some different runners, geared toward a max 7800 rpm na application. i think a runner similar in length to a hi ram, maybe a touch shorter, would do very well.

What are these changes that it needs to be on a street car anyways?

For sure the Evap on the passenger side will need to be figured out since the is no provision for that. Probably a nipple coming off the tapped threaded hole in the intake. Might have to come off the back of the of the intake with a 90 degree nipple to make the brake booster line work. You'll have to buy a map extension because the map provision is on the back of the manifold. I bought one from Michigan Motorsports for $35.00 shipped but didn't use it since I sent the manifold back to MTR. It will fit under your hood easily since it will fit under the Vette hood. Those are the things I figured out but didn't wan to mess with it.

the manifold came with some fittings and lines, just for those purposes, i presume. i believe i recall seeing a 90 elbow among them. you'll also need a vacuum source on the manifold for a catch can/pcv. the basics.

my contact has mine, now. hopefully he can get it scanned and give me some good news. id like to see a straight runner about 160 mm long.

The option that I thought of was running a nipple off the passenger side tapped hole and then a hose off that to the evap nipple and building a little bracket to hold the evap housing. I think there were two nipples and on plug for the manifold if I remember correctly. I think BTR built this manifold more for racing then for the street. They should have set it up to be more street car friendly. Maybe they'll make some changes in the future.

id guess that plenum is almost identical to what they had already available for the LSx stuff. change some bolt patterns and now it's LTx. it's definitely a race car part, but i think they made it easy to work with.

i guarantee i did more vacuum line building and modifying on my 97 xj when i decided to install a 99+ factory intake manifold.

So I'm wondering if this would be the better option for a 427. If so If anybody still has one of these intakes I would consider trading my ported High Ram for it because I don't really feel like cutting my hood.

this is what came with the btr manifold. looks like some misc items to cover vacuum lines and that's about it.

i just added for the brake booster a hose that it can slip into and the other side onto the adapter that would go on the other side, so get a second one i have a Procharger so i didn't need the fitting. For the map sensor i just opened the harness and created slack in the wires.

Wouldn't the airflow only tell part of the story? The runner length and how that works with the airflow pulses isn't accounted for.
