Is it worth the cost??
Starting to plan our usual two weeks in Vegas for Christmas and New Years. The last few times we've gone I head over to Speed Vegas and drive something I normally wouldn't. Checking out their website just now they have a new lineup of cars. Well, one of them is a Hendrick's Motorsports Edition ZL1. For $799 for 10 laps, do you all think it's worth it?

$800 to take a car around a track for 10 laps... Never in my book.

Go for it. It’s not that expensive for what you get compared to the NASCAR drives and ride along programs.

Well.. the Huracan or 488 are $885 for 15 laps. Personally, I'd go that route.

If you have the extra dough and want to do it, I say do it. Whatever car you choose….

I probably should have mentioned I've already done the Ferrari, Lambo, Porsche 911, Acura, GT500, Vette, and the Supra. My girlfriend and I tend to go to Vegas for a week probably once every three-four months. We were suppose to go in August since we just went at the end of March but we got a puppy instead.

I think it’s worth it. Lately I’ve been looking into tracking my car. Insurance plus the cost of a track day come out to roughly $600. So for $200 more I see it as a way to go around a track worry free and without taking any wear and tear on my vehicle. Only problem is 10 laps is less than a normal track day.

I've looked into doing something similar previously, and I don't find that its worth it IMO. I've rented a Z06 (2x) for less than $300/day and I had a Huracan for ~6 hours (?), unlimited mileage for around $700. The Hertz ZL1 could've been rented for around $250-$300/day as well.
Granted, you are on public streets and have much more risk if you choose to drive as you would on the track. I would check out Royalty Exotics. Houston (owner) and the guys are decent to work with. |

That's seem a lot of money for such little seat time, I'm easily less than $500 for a scca track night (insurance + scca + gas + consumables), and that's an hour on track. But, that rally car experience looks interesting at $350. If i was trying to get my motorsports fix on vacation, i'd do that, and spend the rest on arrive+drive karting.

Agreed, as to not worth the money.
The other thing I noticed was that it's a small track with only 1 real straight away (and not a very long straight away at that). While the turns will definitely be fun to explore the handling limits (is there a deductible on that "free" vehicle insurance?), the straight away is too short to get any real speed. So even though they advertise "no speed limit," the practical limit at the end of the straight is probably going to be somewhere around 100mph - nice, but once you've been on a track with a Camaro, 100 doesn't feel especially impressive. |

I got the Ferrari up to 140mph. But the more I look at it, that $800 can be used on gambling which may land me a jackpot with more take home (wishful thinking). But seriously, they overcharge. Have to get their profit margin in I guess. And with the elevation and every other tourist beating the cars, they're not in their prime track condition. I think I'll pay the $350 again and have some fun at Laguna Seca, it's only a 15 minute drive away.

For that much coin go for the Italian exotic. Most major airports you can get a SS, GT, Challenger RT for 2 days for about $250-$300 and beat em up. Before the pandemic you could get one for a week for about $300-$400. I've even seen base 911's. AMG63, GT-R AND C7's for rent from Hertz. Also some Hertz ZL1'S and Z06'S. I think they sold those when they filed for Chapter 13.
