Did you own your car outright or were you still paying off the loan?

I owned it outright. I’m sure that speeds things up a lot.

just got a letter in the post offering me top money for my camaro lol.
unlucky for them i dont need any money and i love the car almost as much as i love the wife lol.
if the value reaches 100k USD it's possible i sell it and buy a small villa in spain.
the way prices are rising in the US i think it's possible

New Scotty video. Great video about the absurd used car prices, especially Carmax and Carvana. Explaining as production is starting back up that used car prices are going to fall and people will be upside down on their loans buying these jacked up used cars at absurd prices.

Big surprise, I've only been saying this for the past how many months. This is economics 101. Also, most people were underwater with their vehicle loans before this crazy market.

Welcome to the USA. Buy things you can't afford, to impress people you don't know, with the money that you don't have.

Same with us... Completely debt free... I don't buy anything anymore unless I can pay cash.

Many people are underwater on their auto loans. You take out a 6 year loan and you are most likely underwater right from the get to. Now many people are taking 7 & 8 year loans. Same with the housing market right now. People are over paying 30-40K over appraisal just to get a house. Wait 6 months when the housing market tanks.

I was thinking about trading my '18 Tahoe for a pickup. Was looking at pickups the last couple days. I'll keep what I have thanks. 2019 Silverado used RST pickup... Over $50k.. LOL.. Ya, not happening.

awesome.
once you're debt free you're no longer a slave to that person.
would never ever loan money for something like a camaro..anything to do with luxery has to be cash or forget it.

tried to go there today because they had 2 cars on my "am I sure I want to drop 60k on a camaro right now" list... and was told without an appointment it would be a 45 minute wait..

No hassle pricing, over 200 locations in the U.S. Free shipping on the majority of vehicles if your location doesn't have a particular vehicle. As for appointments. A lot of car max locations (due to the virus) are by appointment only unfortunately. You can go online and setup a appointment before hand btw.

no hassle because they are usually over market lol I don't get how they can both be low on trade offers and high on pricing yet people fall for the pricing scheme

the 200 locations is convenient although maybe because of my locale, the minimum shipping charge I see on their website is $699
