It strikes me that those of us 50 plus will for the most part maintain strong ties to the Gen5 in part because of GM's success at executing the retro styling resemblance to the 69 bang on. And seriously what is it with those two plain vanilla dials/info screen as gauges set in a ridiculously tall dash pod. The dash layout is hideous at best regardless of fit, finish or materials.

"Success at executing" may be quite an understatement from my perspective. It may be quite awhile before chevy could capture such a following again with such devotion to a single model production.

Very interesting points you gentlemen bring up.

I too believe things come full circle, just unfortunately, the circle ended with the Camaro, or has it??

I think that is has, at least for the remaining decade.

I like the gen6. I would take one but then I probably wouldn't be able to play with it and mod it right off the bat like I'm doing now. Also I don't want another loan right now either.

The front of the 6 gen is acceptable , the rear end looks like a Chevy Cruz ,the interior while fit and finish is way above the 5 gen is tight and cramped and most of all the biggest deal breaker for me is the interior visibility is terrible . That alone will make me switch to a gt350 before the 6 gen any day !

This is the only concept art that makes me excited about the possible look of the new gen 6 z28. Notice how the spoiler is lower along the trunk line like the gen 5. Definitely makes a difference.

Fingers crossed it's a spitting image of this.

I had a 2013 2LT/RS and missed my old '97 V8, I looked at the 2016's when they came in and bought a new 2015 2SS/RS. The 2016 is just not doing it for me. The Gen 5 may be the last of a dying breed of retro/modern styling. I kind of like the front end of the 2016, could get used to the rear, but the side view did nothing for me. I could have bought either so I think that says something. I would have loved to have the new LT1 and 8 speed auto but to me looks are everything. Throw a set of ground effects on a Gen 5 and I'm not sure it gets much better than that. I'm really happy with my new Gen 5 for now and if the Gen 6 evolves into something I can get excited about in a couple of years I can always trade up.

Finally sat in the GEN6.. I don't like them at all. I'll keep my 1LE. Gen 6 lost the mean look and I agree with an earlier post and that they are after a new crowd.

Those tail lights are out of place and ugly. Spoiler...YUCK!! A bit femine looking or Euro sTyle rather than muscle. I hope the new kids are going to like it and buy it, but at this price..not sure.

The only thing that appeals me in the 6th gen is; future 1LE/ZL1 version, front end/black wheels, LT1 and auto transmission.
I'd buy a used 6th gen, auto NPP and go all out boltons and weight reduction and tear the track.

People are still asking me if my 2013 is a brand new! I'm gonna hold on to this 1LE till its paid off and even more then. With a cam, my car is going to satisfy my go fast need! Bolton it does anyway. Its never fast enough. I went thru 3 engines in my 1998 SS and had enough. I'm done with going overboard with modified cars.

I'm not hating, just an honest feedback. I STILL HAVENT SEEN IT IN REAL THOUGH. I'm a GM guy all the way, but I'd rather buy a GT now.

Ok, ok, I finally figured it out.

Here is what Chevy did. Like Boeing, they took a regular 747(which is longer, and more elegant looking), then shortened it up, and modified it, and produced the stubbier, lighter, and sillier looking 747SP, lol.

The Gen6 to me is all 747SP (Special Performance). Look_at_it.

I actually traded in my camaro last year on a now c7 corvette - the next day I went ro the dealer and begged them to let me out of the contract - I just could not do it - there is something about my 5th gen I love. Thank God they let me do it.

I want to like the new corvett too, and I do and I don't - my heat just likes the 5th gen
Here is a video of a z28 and a c7 - I just cant keep my eyes off of the G5 z28
http://youtu.be/Dh5ZtqHac68

Next for me is ground effects and a few motor upgrades and I will be pretty happy

I cam out of cabellas last year to see a 5-6 year old boy hugging and kissing the front of my car - that was pretty funny
