Drive Cat less headers and no tune?

Is it okay to temporarily drive a car with cat less headers. Need to get to the exhaust shop to fix the leaky ball and socket then to the tuner. I would baby the car.

I know you can do it with headers and green cats. Hopefully no different.

Thanks

Yes, as long as you don't mind the light on the dash. Did it for several months until I did the rest of my mods and then did 1 final tune.

Bear in mind it will likely set a permanent code, that is only reversible if you reinstall the stock stuff, or GESI cats while retaining the full functionality of the rear O2's.

Probably not an issue, but I think some states will ding you for the permanent code.

Yep, this. You need to account for this equipment in the tune BEFORE you install it. Then you can have your tuner adjust the rest of it once the new equipment is installed.

They don't test cars where I live. Not worried about it. Plus other than driving to a gas station from time to time, it's a track car.

Then you're all good. Drive it to the tuner, no problem!

I do not pay for On Star services. Never have with this car. They still sent me an email today saying my emissions need serviced.

Creepy at the same time.

They Know (haunted castle music and sound fx in the background).

BTW I got multiple of these while my car was being worked on at Jannetty's, which was nice as as I knew when exactly they were done with reassembly and then testing

I was just thinking about this last night lol. So you tune for it first then install the parts. Got it.

Well you’re really just tweaking the anticipated trouble codes up front to prevent permanent codes. Then after the parts are installed, the actual “tuning” takes place.
