Yes, it's true. You would be surprised how many people are turned off by the Camaro's 'Visibility problem'.

Dodge is doing well with the Challenger, especially considering the age of the platform. It's an appealing car with a ton of variants and options. I would own one in a seconds....next to my SS, of course.

But they better not get used to it. It's not going to last long!

They did it again. Took a very popular car and radically changed it.

IMO, visibility is just a small part of the reason for slumping sales. Chevy overpriced themselves out of the market is what really drove their sales down. A fully loaded 2SS/RS in 2010 was around $37k web a fully loaded 2SS in 2016 was around $50k. Even a fully loaded '15 wasn't close to the '16 price. You can pick up a base 5.0 Mustang for a little over $30k and Challengers stuck with a popular design where Chevy went with a more European style. While the 6th gen is an impressive vehicle it is unobtainable for many "average Joe" people and is enough of a design change to turn people off, ESPECIALLY with the '19 refresh.

Pretty rare that prodigious blind spot is a real issue. And when I rent the Challengers on occasion, I feel like I’m in a 70’s car, not a modern incarnation of something from the past. The 5th Gen killed it with the old and new. The 6th didn’t hence, the OP’s point!

If my inflation calculator is correct, you’re right. $50K for the 2016 was a good $10K over standard inflation.

Wasn’t the 5th gen number 1 most of, if not all of its production life? Seems like I remember that from when they were still in production.

Bought the wife a charger Daytona and can say it was a lot more reasonably priced than a SS camaro. Most people arnt car enthusiasts, they buy what they like in their budget. That’s the reason she went from a 5th gen to the charger

Not surprised in the least bit and they'll give the mustang a run no question. When the time comes in the near future to sell my car, if Chevrolet hasn't made some positive changes with the Camaro by them I'm done. I will not own a 2016-2019 camaro...fact. If Dodge continue to move the bar with a simple good looking car I'm buying it.

Chrysler products have never been up to the standards of GM as long as I’ve been alive. Apparently that doesn’t seem to matter anymore. Remember the K Car? Oh well. I’ll go to my grave having never owned a Chrysler product, and I believe I’ll never regret it.
