In Cali, we call that "border brother" style. This is the first time Ive actually seen it done on a camaro but you see them all the time on Nissan Maxima's and these dodge trucks with murals of cows or horses on the back. They put chrome ANY WHERE they can fit a strip at.

The glue on hood scoop or stick on side-vents was bad enough. The chrome tape just puts it over the top.

It could be worse.. Personally I think it looks weird.. I don't like chrome that much..

Now on the glue on scoops and side vents. Yeah.. That is tacky.. Unless they are legit, no need for extra stuff
