Don't forget the Tesla is twice the price.. I looked at one prior to committing to the Zl1 purchase and I would be so much faster in the Zl1 if I were to spend the same money, but I won't spend it. I would do a few small mods, but rather spend the money difference on another 1st gen purchase.

I wasn't impressed with Tesla until the Model S. And they keep making it better! Still need some time and better batteries before electric vehicles are ready for prime-time...but it'll get there, eventually.

If some porting / tuning and a CAI can take a SS to knocking on 10 Sec. Tesla doesn't impress.

Always the same. Price doesn't matter. The cars ran. One was faster that day. Simple really.

And that's just about it for any car put up against the new ZL1.
They all do one thing good so compared in their best category and no discussion about anything else.

No question, the Tesla is an awesomely quick drag car, but if you watch the video carefully, at 2:12-2:13 or so, it looks and sounds like the ZL1 let off and then back on the throttle. I think the Camaro is faster than this run would indicate, but I'm not sure it would have been quick enough to take down the Tesla. It certainly would have been closer.

I thought I was the only one who noticed this. You can hear the ZL1 spinning, then getting on and off the throttle. I thought the clock showed 132 mph for the ZL1, I really couldn't make it out clearly, if that's the case, I'm sure it'll destroy the Testla if it hooks. Either way, the testla will pretty much beat 99% of the cars on the road.
