I was not impressed to wake up for class and see a foot of snow had fallen over night. Taken 3/1/07. I love my car and its a great daily driver, even through this snow. At least we don't salt our roads....

WOW! Talk about a rude awakening. You have to be somewhat used to that in ND though, right?

By the way, why don't they salt the roads? Is is too cold up there for the salt to be effective?

It's my fourth year at UND and it has been worse (see winter driving thread) but you have to expect it when you are this close to Canada. I am from southern MN where they salt the crap out of the roads. Up here they dont but they still put sand down at intersections. Basically people are just far better winter drivers and dont need the clean roads. They grade/plow loose snow and throw down some sand but for the most part the roads are packed snow and ice most of the winter.
