What is the tread depth of your tires? drive aggressively and have over 10,000 miles but I am at 2/32s on all but one front tire. The shop may just be looking at them and thinking they are toast because the edges of the tire when new have almost no tread depth. If you do not track the car look into the Michelin PSS tires, they are $1400 but will last twice as long so in the end $1400 is cheaper than 2x$1000.

I had to learn which roads were clean and which were not. The first time I took a turn fast and didn't realize the amount of dirt that built up b/c it was night. All I heard were little pieces of dirt sandblasting my car. Thankfully I had splash guards and looked it over and it must have been underneath b/c the paint was fine.
Love the look and how they grip, hate how everything in the world sticks to them though.

These tires are not only super sticky but also have a very soft compound being as they are also summer only tires.
"Summer-only tires tend to wear faster and are more susceptible to damage from road hazards"
I knew this before I bought mine & bought another set w/ pzeros on them for this very reason.
