Looks like a brilliant addition Wilwaxu!
And been after something like this myself as not running runflats now.
Did you ever have to use it?
One thing I am concerned about is the miss match in sizes between the caddie wheel and the Camaro item..or is it within spec?

Cheers

I ended up buying the whole ModernSpare kit for my SS. Gave me peace of mind, especially when I switched over to non-run flat Michelin tires. Never had to use it, and now I have sold my Camaro, so I no longer have any use for the spare kit. If anyone wants it, email or PM me. Located in southeast Massachusetts.

So I switched to non-runflats on my 2SS, changing to 1LE sizes. If I do get a flat, is there a reason I can't use one of my OEM tires as a spare? From what I saw

OEM diameters
F 245/40/20 - 27.7"
R 275/35/20 - 27.6"

1LE diameters
F 285/30/20 - 26.7"
R 305/30/20 - 27.2"

Modern Spare for Camaro
245/50/18 - 27.6"

So my thinking is that if the Modern Spare can be used for a 1LE then the OEM 2SS tires have the same diameter.

Looks like the Modern Spare tire is actually 135/80/18 - 26.5". But still, if you can use that with OEM SS tires, then doesn't that mean you can use the SS tire as a spare with 1LE tires?

Good point with the Modern spare being that much shorter….that is what concerns me. Moderns have informed me that it is perfectly fine to run on the back of the car with the lsd…..just not too sure how sensitive the SS lsd is??
I also thought about using a full size as a spare but it’s a struggle getting it in the trunks….and it takes up lots of space! The Modern Spare is a donut and only 6” tall laying down max .

LOL I was figuring if I had a flat I'd call my son to bring the OEM tire and floor jack.
