Brake pad and rotor resurface advice

Took my car in the dealership for warranty service recently and they said I need to replace all brake pads and resurface the rotors. I have the upgraded 6 piston brake package and 19,000 miles on the car. They want $1300 for the work and I’d like to get opinions - is this something that I could take an independent shop, or even somewhere like Goodyear, to get a quality job done for likely less money?

My ZL1 had warped rotors at ~14K miles and the dealership turned them under warranty.

$1300 is highway robbery! You can have the rotors turned by a local shop for about $80 total if you remove them yourself or have a friend who knows mechanics if you can’t. Pads are a couple hundred bucks and are a piece of cake to change. Although you said these are the ZL1 brakes so probably a little more expensive. I just think the price they quoted is way too much! Push for warranty!

Fortunately they aren’t ZL1 brakes so at least you can buy just rings if you need them.

Not the OP, but I’m looking for some work done too. Dealer said all 4 rotors are warped. Have any suggestions on places to get them replaced?

Best thing to do is educate yourself. Then it will reveal how bad the dealers are wrongly diagnosing this and how much they are overcharging:

You can fix it for ~$42

Also, some wheel cleaners will remove the pad transfer layer and this will cause pulsations.

Saw this that thread was resurrected. Thought I'd commiserate, since I'm having the same issue. I'm getting pretty frustrated.

Aug. 2020 - bought new 1SS
Mar. 26, 2021 - at 6233 mi, the dealer states "runout" at .03mm - machined
Aug. 17, 2021 - at 8013 mi, different dealer states "runout". It was outside of warranty but I called GM
Sept. 3, 2021 - at 8120 Dealer replaced rotors & pads as a courtesy

Today- Sept. 17. - 8334 mi - It's happening again
