Suede cleaning steering wheel and shifter
Previous owner didn't take very good care of the interior. I worked on cleaning up the suede and found that mother's vlr and scrubbing with a microfiber towel works pretty good at working the dirt out of the suede and making it soft again

It is not suede ,it is synthetic 98% polyester 32% polyurethane . It is in fact called Alcantara ,in other words it is a form of plastic . A stiff brush and some water works fine .

I add a few drops of woolite dark to wam tap water. I soak a micro fiber towel in the solution, wring it out then drape the towel on the wheel for a few minutes to break up the oils and grime. I then gently wipe the area, rinse and repeat.
Once everything is clean, I do a final wipe down with just warm water. Woolite has a slight fragrance that will dissipate after a few minutes. You do not want to apply a lot of pressure when rubbing. |

I just use a tiny bit of dawn and hot water on a microfiber and get it just barely damp, then dry it with another microfiber which stands the fibers back up and gives it the suede feel again

I just used a damp rag and went to town. Should really drive the car with gloves on.
