If that was really the case do you think any manufacturer on the planet would build a car capable of going any faster than 65 mph?

I liken the spoiler subject to tire ratings and speed limiters. Tire has to be adequate up to the speed the vehicle is capable of. Thats why these cars USED TO COME with different rated tires between V6/V8 models. I could only assume there would be some inherent liability in there with this, as well. Afterall, we are in an insane, sue-happy, day and time. Maybe GM is just covering their ass?

Johnman didn't delete the original quote block... it's a mess when the forum doesn't do the math to make sure you have matching open and code 'quote' blocks.

I wish I had known this sooner. My car is already built. If I want the blade spoiler then I need a new trunk lid, I guess?

The option to do this isn't available that I can see yet in the order guide or workbench. But as stated earlier, the stock SS owners will need to buy a new trunk lid or find away to patch holes in the stock SS lid to get that blade spoiler on ;(.

Thanks for the info. Hopefully I can learn to love the stock spoiler for a while. I would also have to restripe the car when I change it.

You could also ask someone with an LT/RS if they would want to swap trunk lids.
I'm sure someone with the lip spoiler might like to have the wing.
Especially if your cars are the same color.

I've heard that the cars are designed with the top models first and then they back off from there down to the lesser models.
