Imperialsscamaro I would agree with it sounding normal on the passenger side of your engine with the direct injection sound. But when going to the driver side the sound gets a lot louder like my 16 Camaro ss did. It's currently at the dealership with multiple failed lifters driver side.

Hey all, been reading the thread and was hoping for some thoughts. I have a ticking noise as well, though it's much different than the video posted. Mine, to me, sounds more like a 'fan belt weld point' ticking when hitting a certain section of the pulley or something like a piece of plastic on the fan belt hitting every half second, or less, when going over a certain section of the pulley. If it were an old car I'd say it's just the fan belt ticking, but after reading some of these comments, and how loud/constant it is, I'm a bit concerned.
Again, I listened to the video and hear two distinct sounds- 1) V8 and 2) almost a very mild rattling. Mine is completely different in that it's a constant ticking and much louder than the 'rattling' of the DI. I'm trying to figure out how to post a video. I have a 2016 2SS Auto with 4005 miles. Purchased new 5/2016. Stored during winter. No ticking during first half of summer months. Not driven hard or stupid. The ticking was not there until about two months out of garage for the summer. https://youtu.be/F1ss_DyC2QA Thanks Last edited by jeffnjacki; 08-06-2017 at 08:35 PM. Reason: mileage & video |
