I'm right there with you, but I'm really enjoying my ability to get 20+ mpg on the highway at 80 mph. Lol. 4:10 would definitely be worth it for my 1/4 mile times though.

Yeah this is my road trip/weekend track car.i love the 20+mpg on the highway but I just feel the car would pull times closer to the a8 with 4:10 gears.

It'll definitely out run a stock A8 with gears. As it is they are pretty even with a good tire. The only downside is launching really hard could cause axle issues.

I think they're the same as the 5th gen rears, should be able to find 4.10's somewhere. Anyone else know if this 100% true or not?

Different pumpkin, likely different pinion.
I'm waiting for one of your M6 guys to replace your pumpkin so I can snatch it up to throw the whole thing in my A8. Just don't put too many hard runs on it before you pull it. =) |

If I had the spare cash laying around, mine would already have a GForce 9" in it. Lol. Something about snapping an axle really made me want to just replace everything back there.

LOL. If you want to run it hard, tighten up the cradle first. If you're throwing in power adders, then upgrade the axles. If you exceed the fueling capabilities of the car, then start to consider a new rear end. =)
I really figured a few shop cars would be setting up for track or drag seasons right now and have spare pumpkins laying around already. |
