New fob key.

Good evening from the UK guys.

I own a 2017 50th Anniversary.

I have lost one of my keys I bought a spare from the States, but I'm having issues.

When I insert the newly purchased key into the drivers lock and turn 5 times as per the instructions I'm getting nothing on the DIC.

Anybody have any ideas?

I've attached the key I ordered.

Chevrolet The image you posted appears to say this fib is for a Malibu, not a Camaro.

Underneath it says Camaro, so I assumed it was the correct part.

Hi Huutchh!,
did you strictly follow the procedure shown on your user's manual? If I remind correctly it's a little bit more complex than that..

See you!,

Thanks for the reply Eos!

Yes sir, placed fob I already own in the cup holder. Placed the newly cut key into drivers side lock. Turned 5 times to the left and nothing shows up on the dash.

Unless I'm doing something wrong I believe that is the right procedure.

Hi Huutchh, you may have to use the other procedure because you only have one recognized fob. The “programming with no recognized key fobs”
Something to note, this procedure is not available in Canadian vehicles.
It unregistered all keys and reprograms all of them. Takes about 30 min.

You say you bought the new key from the States. First things first. Was the key blank cut to match your existing key? Does the new key unlock the door when you turn it?

Hope you are making some headway! I know that fob works, I purchased the same one and it programmed and works fine. Good luck!

I'll try again in the morning. I just don't get why I get nothing on the dash when I turn the lock. Baffles me

Does it matter if the door is open or closed when you do the procedure?
