As you suspect, the next most likely problem is that the front rotors are the same. I wouldn't spend time or money on anything else until replacing these.

Note to self: never buy Powerstop rotors.
Agree completely!!!

I agree as well. Thanks again for the feedback. I shot Powerstop an email, as well as the seller to see if they can do anything for me. Haven't heard anything yet... I mean it has been a year, but that doesn't change the fact that they were defective from the factory.

I am impressed with your troubleshooting skills.

Good job man.

Thanks! I know this is a few years in the future, but I figured I'd update since I'm on the forums:

Powerstop graciously gave me a one time replacement on the rotors, I swapped them out but I still had a similar vibration problem.

I noticed I had a part missing from my suspension (mentioned in a previous post) and I was worried that this was causing the vibration issue, so I complained to the dealer that did the work and they replaced the part. I still had vibration issues, so as a last ditch effort they road force balanced the tires... And low and behold, the vibration issue was gone.

This issue could be a variety of factors, but I think because I replaced tires (cheap Amazon ones) and replaced rotors at the same time, I never thought to road-force balance them.

If bought new tires and had your rotors replaced around the same time and are having highway vibration issues, try road force balancing them first!

This is the way to go for sure. I had a vibration issue a while back and went back to my tire guys and ask them if they did the road force balance, and they did not, just the standard "spin" balance. I had them do the RF balance and all was good after that. From now on whenever I do get new tires, I make sure the RF balance them!! Big difference in how they ride at speed.

Well I'll be go to heck and back. Been in the driveshaft balancing bizz for 48 years but was not familiar with 'RF balancing.' Seems to pick up anomalies in the tire / material itself, yes?

I'm starting to have issues with Powerstop rotors too. My thought is, they rust to beat the band every time I wash the car and I think that rusty rotor material is building up on the pads, thereby creating hot spots on the rotor. But that's speculation at this point. Recently re-burnished them. Ok at the moment.

Yes. It will pick up any abnormalities in the tire construction/composition. Just like driving the car on the road it puts pressure on the tire as it spins.
