O yeah... I lift it up to just touching the zl1 lift pads and make sure the blocks are clearing the side skirts and fit nice in the pinch weld cut outs... lift a little more and look again... then lift to the first lock location... check all is sitting perfect.. then lift to the top and then drop it down on the 2 locks (checking again to make sure both are set). I then slide my race ramps 2 stack wheel cribs under all 4 tires for an extra layer of safety above and beyond lol.

Good advice. Next week starting a major mod on my 55 and will definitely be using my QJ.

I use race ramps wheel cribs too (more useful when the wheels are still on the car!), but I also toss a couple of jack stands under the quickjack itself for additional peace of mind.

I like the idea, but which way (front/back) does the quickjack fail?

If the QJ failed, it would fall onto the jack stands. That's why I positioned them there.

You would lower QJ down to wheel cribs.

Is the 5000TL long enough for my 2017 2LT Convertible? or do I need to order the 7000TL or the TLX model?

Unless the lift points are in a different place I believe it will work (but double check). I use the ZL1Addons lift pads and with the lift pads in the very front position at the front of the car, the 5000TL wasn't long enough even with the extensions. When I moved them to the lift point further to the back of the car, no extensions were needed and it worked just fine.

TLX is recommended. 5000TLX is fine. Only get the 7000TLX is you intend to use the QJ with a truck or heavier vehicle. The TL models will not reach the jack pads / lift points.

I have heard of folks saying the TL (previous model was SLX) models work, but I would want to see pics for verification and to see where these folks are lifting their cars. I have the 5000EXT (which has been replaced by the TLX) and it BARELY reaches my ZL1Addons lift points. I would 100% go with the extended reach model.

The Quickjack site has instructions on how and what to measure on your car to determine which model is a best fit for you.
IIRC this includes measuring the distance between the wheels along the rocker molding to make sure it will fit when you slide it under your car, and measuring the distance between the lift points.

7000TL works on both my 2020 camaro 2ss and 2014 Ram 1500.

Yes, and the max spread between lift points on the TL is 60". The max spread on the TLX is 66". On the ZLE (and I assume all 6th gen Camaros) my lift pads are greater than 60" apart. There is only one spot for the rear lift pads; there are two spots for the front lift pads. Even with my front lift pads in the rearmost of the two options, the spread is greater than 60". I can't see how a non-extended reach QJ can work unless lifted incorrectly.

Would you mind taking pics of the locations you're lifting from on your '20 2SS? Same question to anyone else using an SLX or TL QJ model on our cars.

5000 TL on my 18 2 SS. ZL1 add on lift pads also utilized.

Had my 5000TL for over a year now. Had the 2SS up half dozen times. 2 closest jacking points are indeed 60" or less.
