ZL1.....from what ive read its a beast. Z/28 if your looking for something thats a imo special car. The Z/28 is just not that common....and who knows if they release another one.

If you haven't driven them both I would suggest doing that before making a decision. They're completely different cars. Also agree that if you were going to be commuting with it the ZL1 would probably be better.
The ZL1 is a great car as far as performance goes, I just can't stand the exterior or interior. That's the only thing keeping me from upgrading.

Why not get a ZL1 1LE for that extra exclusivity that the z28 would give you, and have that "track car" too?

I wouldn't get rid of your ABM if I were you and planning on getting one of these cars. I most definitely wouldn't get rid of it at a dealership because they'll downplay it big time and then jack the price way up because of the semi-weird near cult like following those things have.
That being said, it sounds like you answered your own question in your opening remarks. You don't much care for the technology, but you want an incredible machine. That would be the Z/28. It has basically zero creature comfort technology but totally hauls @$$ down the road! It is a rare bird that likely one day 30+ years down the road will be worth something if it is a low mile car (no guarantees there). The 6th gen ZL1 is a total beast and would be ridiculously fun to drive, but it is a technological marvel inside and out. Me personally, I'd be torn simply because the 5th gens just have so much more room on the inside than the 6th gens, but the newest performance and capabilities inside the car and out do speak to me. If I had to choose between the two, I'd keep my ABM and keep modding the crap out of it and have a rare color with awesome personal touches.

The zl1 if you were to keep it stock and drive it for commuting or anything of that.
But personally i'd rather get the z28 and do a nice solid build on it so you could have a z28 that walks on zl1s and plenty other supercars. While the zl1 may have better handling or tech, the z28 just has that rare factor. That alone would make me lean more towards a z28 and especially if you have the money to build it into a beast. |

I love me some Z/28, but the recent articles about issues with low mileage LS7 (valves?) was upsetting.
The 2017 ZL-1 is what I would buy in a heartbeat. Probably over a ZR1. |

ZL1. I LOVE the Z/28 with the LS7. Me? I'd probably go with Z/28 cause I'm not a bells and whistles guy but the 17 ZL 1LE is an excellent car. No doubt quick and quicker than the Z/28

IF they release another? It'd have to be faster than the ZL1 and some reason? I don't think they're gonna make one. I'd think they'd just improve the ZL1 next gen and make it much faster.

They won't. They built the GT4.R instead.

The Z28 if you're looking for a statement car...Still even between the two in my region S/E I have never seen a Z28 on the road and very few ZL1's...It's great to be different in a positive way...

Thats why I thnk I would choose the z/28 myself. May not be as fast but it has more appeal to me. I agree with STUNNAH.

That's what I would go for if money was not an issue. If the ZL1 1LE is not an option then Id probably choose the Z28. The 6th Gen ZL1 is a bad ass car but as some others have said, you hardly ever see any Z28's and it is a beast itself.

I would pick the newest of the two.
