did you take the trim off to put the tape on or did you leave it on the car?

I've seem people replace the grille with the z28 grille and it looks great but they leave the chrome trim around the headlights.
I know there will be a visible hole on each side but anyone else just say screw it and removed all the chrome trim?
I actually did the opposite and added the chrome trim to my car. Its pretty easy to remove once you take off the front bumper, although it does require that you remove the front grill as well because its sort of sandwiched between the grill and the upper part of the bumper. The chrome above the headlights should come off easily however as you mentioned, there is a slit about 1.5 inches long in the bumper that the chrome tabs have to slide in but it could easily be patched with vinyl and look decent bc I highly doubt anyone is looking in detail at that part of your car. LOL

Did you remove the trim to wrap it or did you leave it on car? I've got TONS of vinyl experience so i'm thinking of just doing it while it's on the car just haven't had time to really get down there and see what i'm working with yet.

^looks like he did on the car, it's a pain in the butt to remove the grill that sandwiches the eyebrows, so much easier to do on the car and I see why he did it pieces. I took everything off as I was installing a z28 grill so I ended up being able to wrap the eyebrows in one piece each off the car.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. I'd rather have a "not so perfect" job and do it in pieces than go through the hassle of removing it all together.
