Paint Protection?

What are you all doing for paint protection? I got a quote for partial Paint Protection Film (PPF) and the partial was on par with what I expected. However the full car quote was insane.

Partial coverage of each panel? Nasty.

If you mean partial coverage of the car, meaning full Front end PPF, then yes. I'm going to be doing this plus a small piece on the lower rear quarter panel, since you can hide the fact you didn't do the entire rocker. I'm not doing the upper rear quarter panel, because that panel is huge, and I'm not going to do a partial piece on such a visible area of the car.

Full car coverage is always insane at least where I'm at. $8-10k minimum.

Hello there! Not sure how bad it is with trims other than ZL1 1LE, but just a note to anyone ordering a ZL1 1LE that the amount of rocks hitting the rear quarter panels is quite bad, due to tires sticking out and tires being so sticky (even with rock guards). I started getting visible rock chips within 3k miles, not only on the smaller/lower piece right in front of the rear tires, but also the panel above

Good point.
I had the same problem in the SS. Rock guards helped. I trimmed some xpel down and ran a 6 inch strip along the rocker where the most chips seems to occur. Wished I would of caught that at 100 miles. Not 5k miles. Side skirts also helped immensely.

Since my car is garaged and not a daily I did the front clip and half the hood. Its noticeable to me but to everyone I've asked, no one notices until I point it out. Had I to do it all over again I'd of gone full hood and front clip. Anyways...I paid $1k about 2 years ago to have it done in the NE Ohio area. I plan on doing a ZL1 Conversion this fall and will have the full front clip done. I'd imagine it'll be at least double if not more.

My advice looking back is don't skimp on that kind of thing. It's a damn good investment and the paint durability in our cars is not desireable. 100% worth the initial pain. I now won't buy a vehicle without installing it almost immediately upon possession. After what I saw on a DD I owned and loved for 16 years that made me cry, I said never again.

I have the front clip and the front of the rear quarters with PPF. I do have all season tires so I don't have the majority of the rock issues causes by summer only tires being so sticky.

How much it costs to repaint a panel in riverside blue?

My bumpers are already different shade than the rest. Painting might fix it, so PPF could be dumb

I had the entire car done in STEK PPF. It was very costly, but this is my baby and I want to drive it...not let it sit in the garage like other toys I have. It may be overkill but gave me piece of mind. It's my first car that I have had ppf on. So far, I'm a big fan...but I've only got 380 miles on her. She has been stored for the winter and I tore my achilles so I haven't been able to drive a 3 pedal car. I just got out of my boot, hopefully this weekend she comes out for the season.

I notice any and all imperfections but no one else knows its on unless I point it out. The self healing is awesome! So far, not regrets.

I had mine done with EXPEL PPF and ceramic on top.

full front hood/ fenders A Pillar and front of roof and then the lower rock guard.

Very happy with it. saved many chips and dings and the washing is so easy. Bug guts just spray off with High pressure washer and dry it with a leaf blower!!

Does anyone know of or recommend a specific time after production to get PPF installed? Is there any future risk of damage to the paint if it hasn't cured from factory when applied too early or removed later?
