Got My Z/28 Brembo Carbon Ceramic Complete Brake Kit.

So I got lucky and was able to find a guy selling the complete set of Brembo Carbon Ceramic Brakes from a Salvaged Z/28.

Can't carbon ceramic last the life of the car in theory?

I mean is there anything special about them. Could someone use regualr calipers on ceramics if the rotors worked. why are they more expensive

The rotors are the majority of the cost on the brakes. The calipers are similar casting to other 6 piston, but carry a Z/28 logo which catches a premium. (Look at CTS-V/Corvette Z06 vs ZL1 ALL the same cast (Z06 has vented pistons/paint is diff) but the ZL1 cost the most).

The Z/28 uses a 15.5" front rotor...ZL1/V/Z06 use a 14.6" rotor so you cant just toss a Z/28 rotor on with your Z06 calipers..

Thanks, I wasnt trying to use the rotors just curious why they cost more and if there was any internal differences. Expensive stickers

God damn, after my last track day Saturday, I'd love to swap out a set of those carbon ceramic, but just can't justify $7200 right now. Ran one session with a guy I met at this NASA event with a 2015 Z/28, and he was hard on the brakes, harder than I can be, and they never faded. I got bounced around in that seat (no harnesses, just stock belt) for 20 minutes!

Might have to look at another, less expensive option....
