Idle Video: 2002 Camaro SS Getting a Katech 416ci and More

I've had this car since 2004 and used it many years for a daily. I knew at some point I would do a full build and that time has come. It's getting a full powertrain upgrade along with many other items, not much is going to be left untouched. Due to the slow supply chain right now it's going to take some time but it should be fully completed by late August or September. Updates will be posted but here's the starter:

Getting close, nearly everything is getting replaced on this car. High quality video of idle, drive around, and more coming November 24.

Make sure you get rid of that known failure pulley on the power steering pump, especially running the stock plastic reservoir.

There are kits available now to run the C6 pump with a remote reservoir. If the plastic one fails when the pulley lets go and breaks it open, a fire will start immediately.

I would also ditch the factory "power steering cooler" - it does nothing to lower power steering temps. Replace with a straight hose from a non-cooler car, and if you want cooler power steering, install an actual small cooler radiator and plumb the lines to and from the pump.

Anyway, awesome build, just some pointers I've learned with my 4th gen over the last 22 years.

Thanks, I'll have to look at the power steering pump option. My goal was to replace every part but some things I couldn't find. The steering system and starter were the main items.
