Xpel Tracwrap temp ppf in 12” width, I use this on track days in strategic areas on top of my Xpel ppf. It stays on. Amazon has it.

I've had good success with the Novistretch Bra. I have one for my ZL1 and one for my C8 Corvette.

While the bra doesn't cover the front 100%, it covers the areas with the greatest chance of being hit.

I drove my C8 from Florida to Ohio with the Novistretch on the front. Other than a few bug cuts, not a single nick in the paint.

Yes !!! That’s the stuff I was trying to remember. But the painters tape will work.
If I was to use the tape I would do the same as HDRDTD to be honest. These wide sticky tires throw lots of stones. Hence why I did my whole car in PPF rather than some here and there.

If you’re that worried about your car getting dinged up on the trip home, why not have it hauled in an enclosed trailer? I’ve done this before with classics I’ve owned, but I’ve come to realize that if you drive your cars, they’re gonna take hits, so I stopped worrying about the patina they accrue.

Drove mine home about 700 miles. Put blue painters tape on near the dealer. No issues. Drove it straight to the Xpel people.

Be careful driving it home as the roads are full of distracted drivers.

Yea, everyone’s different. I somewhat agree with you though. It’s a Camaro... mine has a # of pretty obvious flaws from the factory. Nothing wrong with taking pride in what you have though. I tend to lean more toward wanting to protect the radiators / heat exchangers than keeping the paint 100% pristine.

I apply Xpel Tracwrap the week before a track event. I have some Track Armor also which I bring to the track in case I want to add more protection, it's a lot less expensive than Tracwrap, but it's also a lot thinner and peels off easily if not applied perfectly.

Even if you apply Tracwrap badly with wrinkles and bubbles, it will not come off until you remove it. When applied over Xpel PPF you have to be careful to remove it only by pulling back fully parallel to the surface of your car, do not pull up.

If you pull UP, the sticking force can slightly wrinkle the PPF, but it went away with warm water, engine heat and time. If you pull back parallel there are no removal issues.

My ZL1 1LE is expected to be in any day according to the sales associate. I thought that using painters tape for the trip home was an original idea but boy was I wrong. Lol. I live in Northern Virginia and I found my dream car “in transit “ at a dealership in Alabama. That’s about a 10 to 11 hour drive. I was thinking I would use “Frog” tape.
