Anyone try the Willpak aluminum rear window louvers?

I was hoping MRT would do something similar to their fifth gen style louvers, but no luck with that so far. It looks like there is finally an aluminum option for the sixth gen though. I just noticed this recent video for aluminum louvers from Willpak. I know these are a love it or hate it styling choice, but would like to hear from anyone who had practical experience with these Willpak louvers:

my only concerns is how it holds up to weather. plastic seems like it would be more durable and no chance for rust or dings.

The problem with the plastic option for the sixth gen is that they pretty much all look hideous to me, while this style works as a throwback to one of my favorites, the 69-70 Boss 302. I think the slight curve to the louvers MRT did for the fifth gen look even better.

That being said, any issues people have experienced with the finish would certainly be good to hear about...

It does rust... It is just an aluminum oxide coating that does not look different than the aluminum and it protects it so that the air does not make it rust more...! But it does rust, just not the same way as steel! Ok ok, it corrodes, not rust... But you get the point haha.

So seeing that I may have to be the guinea pig, I have been looking around at where I can buy these. Willpak's website lists a number of vendors for their products, but virtually none of those vendors even list the sixth gen louvers, including the big name parts sellers like Jegs and Summit.

Which has me looking at purchasing through CarID, although some of the reviews about them are concerning...

Other than the CarID video, there is virtually nothing online about these louvers. The product has a bit of a vaporware feel at this point!

Reporting back on my attempt to order the Willpak 6th Gen rear window louvers. My vaporware impression may have been correct.

After looking around at the limited number of Willpak vendors that actually listed the product, I ended up going with the CarID listing on eBay (they did the install video I posted above). I placed my order on 12 JUN and was supposed to receive the product by 8 JUL. Never got a shipping notification though, and now I've received a notice that the order was cancelled and a full refund will be issued.

I will follow up with CarID and report back on any specifics I can get from them... in the meantime, if anyone has ordered and received these louvers, let us know!
