I used touch-up paint from Scratches Happen. It matched the shock color perfect.

That sucks... I took my sister for a ride in our new....550 miles... vert yesterday and when she got in the door pulled to the second detent... out of her hand. And hit her house. Put a tiny chip on the rear lip of the door. Looks like it might just be clearcoat.
Ive had good luck with factory touch up paints over the years. With the nail polish brushes. Dabbing, not brushing If your really into DIY repairs you can slowly build up the touch up paint over a few applications and when its all above grade... using a block for flat and square surface and wet or dry on down to polish and just polish it out.
I found a youtube vid with some old timer repairing hotrod paint chips. Its possible to totally make the chip disappear.
Ive done that successfully on my bikes.
On my DD cars I just dab the OEM touch up.
Good to have some clearcoat touch up too. I dont think the color is UV resistant. Seems to fade over the long haul.

If that is on the roof line, I would just get it professionally repaired. It won't cost that much and they can blend it out nicely. Otherwise, no matter how good you are with touch up paint, it will be the first thing you notice when you look at your car just because of where it's located...unless you are approaching it from the rear. Good luck!

If your not going to wet sand and polish out, i wouldn’t use touch up pen or brush.

Want it done cheap:

Dr coloechip. My experience is it will match nice/perfect but won’t fill whole chip. The edges will be raised. Only you will notice cuz you know it’s their.

Want it done right:

have a touch specialist do it. The fill and air brush it and you’ll have a very hard time finding it.

Using a syringe is the best way to fill a chip. go online and look at the AMMO channel

Then use sand paper glued to a eraser on a pencil. Wet sand it. Use 3 stages of different grit.

It will be unnoticeable up close on a non metallic paint job

Buy a spray can from GM, then you simply shoot some into a paper cup and use touch up brushes... The paint in the pens does not last last first use...
