Bummed. got beat by my buddys 5.0

Believe me op. ...learning to drag race your car isn't as easy as some make it look. Later year I started at 13.7 at 105mph on my first ever run....something like that anyway. After that and another trip to the track totalling maybe 23 runs I managed to get it down to 12.9 at 112 mph. This year I added 391s and after maybe 4 runs total I managed a 12.8 ....no 60ft or mph because of tracks problems. I thought I was getting better but now with 391s im spinning more at the start and breaking loose on the 2nd to 3rd shift in my L99. I have to learn more now .... but. My whole point is you will get better.....and you will beat your bud if he doesn't go mod crazy.

OK OK. you have made a good point. but did this mustang redline to 8200 rpm ??? . fast forward to 4 min .watch this is tell me its the same one like in your videos . yes i know its the driver not the car. i for myself beat the 5.0. even the new one that came out the gt. off the line in first, second and third was pulling away like no tomorrow till he gave up. and when i saw who driving. was a punk kid that wanted to show off what his dady and mommy buy him . i found this out after we pull over for some tims and chatted. so yes u are correct HOLD THE DOOR it can be done if you know your car and can drive it

I love when people discount the 5.0 like its some kind of slouch .. Guys are talking like its a 300HP car. It's 435 and weighs a touch over 3600... Very similar to the gen 5 .. Why is it so inbelievable that it might get the W from time to time. Keep an open mind people.. Road and track tested these cars and they were almost identical in performance numbers. My son has a 15 5.0 with performance package. Basically fords version of my car. They are so close in performance it's ridiculous.

Mustang's aren't slow. Not by any stretch. Even the old 3V has to be taken seriously if you don't know the mods or driver skill. You never know. Like I said, my friend w/a 2012 base model GT and 3.73 gears, canned SCT tune and 3" cat-less exhaust from stock headers back was just as fast as me except in the very top end. Me and him were a drivers race nearly every time. The boy can drive though. He was also lighter by 350lbs as well, verified by the scales @ the track. So if you think that you can beat a full bolt-on 5.0L GT, then you're a fool and have no business talking about "racing" because you've been racing shitty drivers. Just call it like it is, you raced lousy drivers. It happens. I have gotten a lot of W's the same way.

I tried to tell him he's on crack thinking he could beat a bolton 5.0 and him stock. Your right crap drivers in tbe mustang. I think he is just trying to show people that if you are decent driver and stock.....you can beat modded cars. Only if they have a weak driver. Gossip is right to bad he is located nowhere ....I would like to run him in my modded l99 from a dig ......but from his post he would walk me.....interesting .

It's the equivalent of a stupid ass ricer who claims they can best every 5.0L under the sun because "Hey this one time, I revved @ this Mustang on the freeway and honked it off. I pulled him by like 5-6 cars when I let off". Nevermind the poor bastard in the Mustang was probably laughing and wasn't even racing/paying attention.

Im right with ya there my friend.....I think someone"closed the door" on hold the door. We had an exchange last night he caught me off guard a bit. Your right about this type of guy .....I was ready to rock today. I don't like people with 2 posts getting all aggressive and insulting with pretty much everyone. I don't think he understood that there are plenty of guys here that know their way around the track. It was only a matter time before people started calling him on his idiot posts. Oh well I had my say before they banned him.

In a straight line, probably not as much as you initially think.

Like the 1LE, the GT350 straight line numbers are not that impressive, go check em' out from the online magazine tests.

It's not about straight line numbers with those type of cars, as they come out of the box
