I ran a 13.17 in my 15 l99 with sw headers and z28 cai/dyno tune his 16 5.0 ran 13.03 BONE STOCK.

Time for mods. 5.0s are quick cars. I have one. CAI, tune, tires and convertor and it is a solid 11.8 car. No headers, motor 100% untouched and never opened.

There is always a faster car. That's the problem with Superlatives- it only takes one data point to knock you off the top of the heap.

What was your 60ft? and his?

You should have held out for the 16 Camaro you would have put 10 car lengths on him

A gt has to go into two gears for the quarter, they are geared for acceleration, you need a converter and better gears. The converter could wait for a cam, the gears would make you best him. He has a 3.73 rear, yours 3.23 freeway gears I believe, your in a automatic which should if tuned right go through the gears flawlessly.

A higher stall converter and sticky tires will fix you up nicely. Mine dropped 9 tenths with a converter change and some tires.

protorque spec'd me there 28-3200. He said it would make a huge difference. they re-do the factory GM converters IIRC.

just wait till the mustang gt350 comes out. 8200 rpm red line. 526 hp stock.... how much will we have to push our camaros to keep up with that. :(

About as often as a Mustang GT needs to worry about keeping up with the Z/28

That 1/2 of a tenth of a second probably cost you the race.

That 1/2 at the start is equal to a full tenth on the big end add them together and you have the win.

Make sure you leave on the last yellow to tree him.
