Modification doesn't mean the warranty is nullified. You can modify to your heart's content and as long as any issue you have is not a direct result of a modification GM still has to take care of it.

Will This Modification Void My Warranty?

Let me guess, umm, AFM is pissing you off. I don't know how much upgrading you are talking about. If you got the money to do major upgrades then who needs the factory warranty? If you are talking about basic bolt on upgrades like I did, then factory warranty is still there to a certain extent. I tuned my car at 7 weeks old 2300 miles. It's been into the dealer 4 times since for warranty work. I got 43K miles on it, it's over 3 years old and I just had it at the dealer a couple weeks ago for a water pump replaced under warranty.

You got a lot of reading to do here on this site.

Depends on the mods. If you have a tune done ,they take a very dim view of it . Internal engine mods instantly void all warrantee's . So if all you want is an exhaust mod and a CAI , they just for the most part look the other way .

Yes AfM sucks. Im thinking gears, headers, tune. 95% putting around town but want the car to do more than it does.I may 1/4 mile this year yet just to get baseline.

Soon as took delivery i ordered a tuner with trans reprogramming and cold air kit.
Then arranged to get a whipple supercharger installed at 1000 miles on the odometer

3 1/2 years later and dozens of mods later no problems.

In my opinion the best bang for the buck mods would be Headers , Cold Air intake , New Gears , Rear Suspension Bushing upgrades , and a tune to tie it all together.
You'll have a whole new ride

I started with my suspension first, then moved onto a CAI w/scoop, PTB, then ARH short tube headers and SOLO high flow cats. This combo did not throw CEL,s and was coupled with my RANGE AFM device to eliminate the DOD. After over two years I wanted more pickup and never liked the way the auto shifted. I added 3.70 gears and had a dyno and trans tune. Now the car responds the way it should. My guesstimate is that approximately 70% of the SS forum members have voided their warranty.

Strictly speaking, nothing really "voids your warranty."... Yes, if you get a tune and headers and then you throw a rod while drag racing...well, Chevrolet is not going to pay for it. However, if your power windows suddenly quit working, they're gonna be covered and your warranty will still work.

It's your car and you only live once. If you feel like you might have a bunch of expensive problems with your engine or drivetrain, then by all means, play it safe and leave it stock. This is especially true if you cannot turn a wrench or change your own oil.

But if you want to have some real fun, and see how great these cars can really be.. get to work! Go get you some of that! You will not believe how much better your Camaro can be! I am so glad I got a tune. The L99 is a totally different car with a good tune, some headers and a good CAI. You cannot have more fun on four wheels.

I do know one thing - when I am driving and I look at all the folks cruising along in their Toyota Corollas, Kias, Nissans... etc.. I truly feel sorry for them. It really is sad. They know not what they miss. We, the lucky few.. the owners of American muscle cars.. we've got it made!!!

You only live once man, I only put about 1200 miles on all my cars the heads and cam setups after that. Had my 2011 Denali get shipped to the shop 11 miles on the clock for H/C I daily drove that from Texas to New York back to Texas and zero issues.
