Have the same issue if you drive into deep water (as is known to occur here in Houston), and no window escape. Either plan ahead or go down with the ship I guess.

I'm just curious, what makes any of you think something could happen that the doors will not unlock? I could see if it was a crash and the door was jammed shut. But then you could just climb over to the passenger side and open that door. And what are the odds of an accident soo horrific that both doors would be wedged shut? And these doors unlock with the door handle anyway. So I'm not sure this is anything to legitimately be concerned with.

Because I like to prepare for the worst case scenario for piece of mind.

Yep, its usually a mandatory reduction for Naval Aviators after year #1

Btw, ever wonder why they have a Yellow Arrow with RESCUE pointing towards the cockpit exit, (for those aviators who haven't had the reduction yet)

In that case you should have a fire extinguisher, a life jacket, a tool kit, a bottle jack...

I mean, I get it. But you're worrying about something that is nothing to worry about. Pull the lever and the door opens. Or smash the window out and open the door from the outside. Or climb into the passenger seat and get out that way. Or climb thru the trunk and pull the release latch. Or just squeeze your body until you get thru. That is if some sort of Final Destination type accident occurs. But I still don't see any situation where you would not be able to get out of the vehicle.

In that case they'll pop the front windshield out and extract you.

If your that concerned you could carry a window breacking tool with you where you could pop the window out yourself.

I wouldn't worry too much as I haven't see too many ZL1's catch fire with injuries.

Hmmm.... where in the cockpit would I keep said tool? There is so much space lol

Depending on the size, you could mount it right in front or directly behind the seat. A window punch can fit in a pocket.

Remember you only need to shatter then break the seal of the window to kick it out.

I can assure you when the fire induced adrenaline kicks in you'll be able to kick like a pack of mules.
